My research focuses on how even subtle differences in technological factors, such as display size, can affect how people perceive and interact with visual information. I hope to use the findings of this work to inform the design of interfaces across multiple devices. I am also interested in how information visualization can be used to support computer-mediated collaboration.
I hold a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies from UC Berkeley where I created my own major on designing information technology for society. As an undergraduate, I worked with Ken Goldberg in the Automation Lab where I helped to design and develop a collaborative interface for a massively multiplayer online birdwatching game. I also helped Nancy Van House to conduct fieldwork on people's use of Flickr and cameraphones. Some of my previous work can be found here.
